To those who still keep up with my blog, my apologies on the large gaps between posts. It’s been a crazy ride. So, let’s recap the events since my last post.
I interned at ZuCot Gallery. I started and completed my Senior Exhibition. The best thing that happened last semester was I graduated Cum Laude from the University of North Georgia with my Bachelors of Science degree in Art Marketing.
With school being completed, the next step is to keep moving forward. I will continue to gain more knowledge about my craft. I will continue to create new things, whether it be for personal or commercial use. I will go and find the career that I have dreamed about for four years. Most of all, I will just keep moving forward.
Exciting things are happening this semester. First off, I got an amazing internship at ZuCot Gallery. Unbelievably exciting time working at that gallery. I’m learning more than I could ever believe.
Secondly, this semester is the big semester for me. I am in my Senior Portfolio Production class. In other words, I have aimlessly working away on creating my final show of UNG. Above is a glimpse of the ideas that have been running through my head. More to come!
I have exciting news. Actually, two pieces of exciting news!
Last Friday, I, along with many of my fellow classmates, proposed what we are hoping to be completing for our Senior Shows. Spending the last few years, experimenting with new forms of media and so forth, I finally chose a medium that I decided to propose for my Senior Review and Senior Show. Now, I won’t tell you that here. However, I will tell you that I had my proposal accepted! That means in Fall of 2015, I will be going through Senior Exhibition Production for my Senior Show!
Not only that, I have also entered the Hal B Rhodes Student Exhibition show. I was chosen out of 60 entries to participate in this show! Super excited!! Therefore, if you’re in Dahlonega March 26, join me for the reception!
(Long overdue update: My piece, “Bed”, won the UNG Visual Arts Department Head Award!)
Apologies for the lack of posting. Being a full time student and employee means very little time for anything unrelated to school or work. Any who, exciting things are happening. As of next semester, I will be working on my senior show proposal and sample work. (Wish me luck, haha) If all goes well on that front, this kid right here will be in her last semester of UNG! Excitement and fear all at once!
Now, that is a little bit away. Upcoming news for this semester. Finishing classes means a lot less stress. However, it also means I will have created my very own website (mostly from scratch). That’s pretty exciting. So, keep an eye out for the website. Until then..
With my life steadily drawing closer to become the Average Joe, I begin to fear that I am losing sights of the hopes and dreams of the artistic future I have been desiring for years upon years. A year ago, I would have never thought that I would have taken a full flip switch and return to the my job that drains what little creativity I have left. I never thought I would be battling myself, nonetheless those who I have grown to love, in order to make some peace and creative freedom in my life. Tis one of the scariest things to think that almost three months ago, I was staying up to all awful hours of the night just skyrocketing into utter artistic bliss. Yet now, its work, no sleep and drama filled days of summer. Where and how did I get here?
However, this is not the point, kind of. I have finally found my artistic muse and creative solution to the mundane life I have been living. All I can say is that it feels like heaven to be back in a creative zone. So, to share the silly artsy things that I have started create, here’s a sneak peak at the “Beginning Progression.”
Tell me what you think!
So. It has been a while since I have been posted anything. Pure shenanigans, my friends. What could be the reasoning behind this lack of posting? School. I have once again returned back to further my education. I am going for my Bachelor’s in Art Marketing at North Georgia College and State University. (What up long name?)
Any who, I have been pretty busy with exploring new medias, especially painting and printmaking related things. What up! I have established that I have gained a new love for it. Therefore, I am going to start posting some of this new work here as well. Starting with a good portion of the work that I have done in my color theory class.
Tell me what you think!
