After watching one of my favorite wedding related movies (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), I realized I had some updating to do. This past weekend I, along with my lovely large Filipino family, traveled to Sin City to watch our cousins, Anthony and Meriel, get married. Let’s just say, it was a wonderful, crazy and very silly wedding. The theme was a Blue Hawaiian wedding with a legit Elvis impersonator marrying my cousins. This guy was a riot. Definitely a nice change of pace. Plus, I was asked to be the reception photographer, which was a big change fore me. Definitely nerve-wrecking but a learning experience. I did figure out two things. A simple flash in my hot shoe made some pretty awesome photos (Thanks, Zack for One light help). I also learned mirrors are the devil when it comes to shooting with said flash. Bursts of light every where. Like I said, a learning experience. Any who, amazing wedding. Fun weekend and now back to reality.

Therefore, Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Young. I love you both. Hope I made you guys proud with these photos!

It’s been forever since I’ve posted or even lifted up my camera. A bit disappointing. I feel quite rusty, but I am quite glad I was able to. On Saturday, a few friends of mine and I traveled in the wee hours of the night to gorgeous Tybee Island, Georgia. It was my first time going to Tybee, so I was pretty excited. I was also excited to be able to pick up my camera after many weeks of being unable to. From taking photos of the gorgeous sunrise to relaxing on the beach, my trip to Tybee was amazing. I wish I didn’t feel as rusty as I did. Just means I need to pick up my camera more!!

Yesterday was the first photo shoot I have done in quite  awhile. It was also the first I had done on my own. Not going to lie, it was quite nerve-wrecking.

Yesterday, my friend, Christina, and I traveled to Blairesville, Georgia to photograph Jessica Craig and Trevor Jones for their engagement. We traveled early in the morning to the beautiful vineyards of Crane Creek. It was a gorgeous day for an engagement session. To be honest, I have felt a bit rusty at the beginning of the shoot. But once the day progressed, my creative flow came back. I definitely have to thank Jess and Trevor for being patient with me yesterday. I also want to thank Christina for waking up early to help be my assistant.

Congratulations to the future Dr. and Mrs. Trevor Jones! I can not wait to be a part of a beautiful and very special day in your lives. I wish you both a beautiful and happy future together!

-Getting money set aside for equipment

-Going out and doing shoots.

Hopefully, I can do this in a reasonable amount of time. I really want to get back out there. Get back to doing what I love.

Today was filled with hair spray, grunge make up, graffiti and good friends. Mike and I were accompanied by our lovely and super awesome stylist, Sarah Akana, our awesome model, Miranda Sheppard, and one of my best friends, Christina. (You’ve seen Christina on this blog before!!) After stylist make-up and hair done by Sarah Akana, we all headed to our location for some awesome shots. A bit of a struggle because of the not great weather but never a challenge. I’m definitely glad for having Miranda with her new hair cut and very awesome clothing style to be our model today. Hey Guys,

Sorry for the major delay in updating. If you haven’t heard yet, I am going on my fourth day mattress surfing. Sadly, I don’t really mean surfing on mattresses. I’ve been sick. Day 4… I am hoping to get better by Friday. (Keep your fingers crossed for me)

Any who. On Saturday, Mike and I traveled to Athens with my friends, Danny and Miriam. It was a beautiful day for a photo shoot. I definitely wish we could have stayed longer and gotten some awesome evening photos. Since we couldn’t, we did what we always do. Take awesome photos and work around what “problems” arise. Woot woot. I definitely like a lot of the photos that came from this shoot. I can’t wait for another one with Danny and Miriam. Thank you both for being awesome and dealing with the very sick me.

Last night, I joined my good friend and partner in crime, (well, in photography at least) Michael Terrell, at a happening karaoke bar called Ai Tunes. I have been there a couple times. This place is awesome. It is designed so well that it is an architectural photographer’s dream. The staff at Ai Tunes is so kind and helpful. In other words, you need to join us there! Any who, the photo above is of Timmy the bartender. He’s awesome and definitely a great person to hang out with, just like the rest of the staff.

So… You know what you should do? Join Michael and myself along with the awesome staff of Ai Tunes next weekend for the Chinese New Year!

As many people now, Haiti was devastated by a 7.0 earthquake a year ago. It is painful to think that the people of this country has been hit with such a tragedy. Yet, it is not the only to have. Many places have been hit with many unbearable disasters. Not many will have someone take their time out of the lives to document it. Jeremy Cowart did this for Haiti.
